Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
This summer internship program is tailored to undergraduate sophomores and juniors from Hawaiʻi and the Pacific Islands, providing a unique opportunity to gain hands-on research experience in cancer-related fields from May 27 through July 25, 2025. The initiative pairs each student with expert faculty mentors working in either Population Sciences, which explores epidemiology and community interventions, or Cancer Biology, which targets molecular cancer mechanisms and treatment innovations. Alongside their research, students participate in orientation sessions, safety and ethics training, writing and manuscript seminars, and journal discussions, culminating in poster presentations of their research findings. The program prioritizes academically excellent students with an expressed research interest and residents of Hawaiʻi or Guam. It supports the academic journey by offering paid internships, potential travel, housing, and transportation support for eligible students, fostering a pathway to careers that address cancer disparities and enhance drug discovery efforts. The internship is supported by the National Cancer Institute and other partners, underlining its commitment to research excellence and public health advancement.
