Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
Each summer, the University of Arkansas College of Education and Health Professions hosts several camps aimed at children and teens in the local community. These camps provide valuable opportunities for campers to develop new skills, build friendships, and engage in educational enrichment related to the college’s academic fields. The Speech and Hearing Clinic offers an Olympic-themed program with interactive speech and literacy activities, while the AAC Lab runs a three-week STEM-focused camp designed to support children using communication devices, paired with peers for inclusive learning. The Clinic for Literacy conducts camps addressing reading intervention for early elementary students and a storytelling camp for middle graders where participants create comics based on museum artifacts. The longstanding Young Writer’s Camp serves a broad age range, encouraging writing and interaction with community figures. These camps emphasize both camper growth and the professional development of college students in education and health disciplines.
