At the Coastal Center at Milford Point, the summer camp provides children a unique opportunity to connect deeply with nature through weekly sessions from mid-June to mid-August. The camp welcomes kids who have completed Kindergarten by June 2025 and organizes them into three groups based on their most recent grade level to tailor activities specifically to their learning stage. Highlights include interactive, hands-on nature explorations, wildlife interaction, and learning conservation skills vital for environmental stewardship. The program balances educational science activities, creative arts, and outdoor games that engage campers in the coastal ecosystem. Safety and well-being are ensured through a well-trained staff prepared to support all campers. Campers enjoy a daily schedule that includes group meetings, thematic activities, explorations of beaches and marshes, snack and lunch breaks on porches, and quiet or active choice times. Membership with the Connecticut Audubon Society is mandatory, enhancing community involvement and support for conservation.
