Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo provides exciting summer camp experiences designed for kids entering Kindergarten through 6th grade, focused on wildlife education and outdoor exploration. Participants have the chance to encounter animals directly, engage in outdoor adventures, participate in keeper-led activities, and create unique animal treats and crafts. The camp’s goal is to ignite a lifelong passion for the natural world, offering hands-on learning through animal presentations, nature walks, interactive games, and more. Operating from late May through early August, the camps are scheduled by the grade the child will enter, with special registration privileges for zoo members starting in early February. Different camp formats are available, including the classic all-around camp experience and the nature-focused Camp WILDER for older elementary students. The program stresses an interactive and discovery-based curriculum to deepen children’s connection to nature. Additional highlights include International Mud Day, a fun event designed to connect campers globally through playful outdoor activities. Participants are required to bring water, snacks, and appropriate clothing for the weather. Financial aid options are also offered for families needing support to participate.
