CampMed

CampMed is a two-day immersive summer camp that offers students entering ninth grade an intense introduction to the field of medicine and science. Hosted by the University of Toledo College of Medicine & Life Sciences and its Area Health Education Centers Program, the camp provides participants a close look at the day-to-day responsibilities of doctors. Students are placed in teams led by advancing medical students and participate in sessions conducted by healthcare professionals. The experience includes interactive opportunities in anatomy, pharmacology, neurobiology, pathology, and physical diagnosis, along with practical laboratory and diagnostic exercises. The program also certifies students in Heartsaver CPR. Interested students need to apply through their schools with recommendations and essays, with selection being highly competitive.
