Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh hosts Camp Rescue & Jr. Rehabber Corps to provide children and teens with an immersive experience in animal care and wildlife education. The camps are tailored for various age groups, from young kids in 1st grade to teenagers entering high school, offering diverse thematic weeks such as veterinary care, wildlife behavior, and environmental conservation. Held at the East Side Domestic Shelter and Wildlife Center, sessions run Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM, featuring engaging activities like crafts, games, expert talks, and live animal encounters. The Junior Rehabber Corps focuses on teens’ career exploration in wildlife rehabilitation and related fields, featuring interactive classes and guest speakers. Campers will enjoy a safe, inclusive environment with a clear disclaimer about possible allergens such as pollen and animal dander. Online registration is required, with pricing options and financial aid available to support access to the program.
