Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
Hosted by the Dane County Humane Society, Camp Pawprint provides children aged 7 to 12 with a rich educational experience focused on animals and shelter life. Operating year-round with sessions during summer, winter, and spring breaks, this day camp engages campers in learning through lessons, animal interactions, and community service projects supporting the shelter. Groups are kept small, enabling more personalized attention and interaction. Campers enjoy guest speakers, games, and opportunities to meet various animals, although direct petting of adoptable animals is restricted for safety reasons. The program runs from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, with optional aftercare until 5:00 pm. The cost per day camp is $80, with the spring break full week camp costing $365. The camp provides limited financial assistance to qualified families. Participants need to bring packed lunches and snacks. The camp environment includes hay and peanut butter used for animal enrichment, so it is not suitable for children with severe allergies to these items. Camp Pawprint is dedicated to educating children on the importance of animal care, respect, and fostering a compassionate attitude toward all living beings.
