Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
Camp Humane Heroes offers an engaging summer camp experience tailored for children aged 7 through 12 who are passionate about animals. Hosted by the Capital Humane Society at their Pieloch Pet Adoption Center, this camp provides young campers with educational activities focused on animal care, welfare, and empathy. Curriculums include interpreting animal behaviors, understanding the various helpful roles dogs play, and hands-on interaction with specially approved animals under supervision, including therapy dogs. Each camp session, limited to 15 participants, involves lessons led by community engagement staff and volunteers, supplemented by special guest speakers. Campers benefit from a supportive environment that encourages learning about compassionate treatment of animals, responsible pet ownership, and community involvement. The camp is a great way for kids to enhance their knowledge about animal welfare while participating in creative projects from 9 AM to 12 PM during the weekdays throughout the summer.
