Blank Park Zoo Summer Safari Camps

The Summer Safari Camps at Blank Park Zoo are designed for children ages 3 to 12 and run during the entire summer break of Des Moines Public Schools. Camps are structured by grade level, starting from a half day Pre-K camp to full day camps for grades Kindergarten through 7th grade, including special field trips and overnight stays for the oldest group. The camps focus on outdoor activities exploring various zoo habitats, requiring campers to be potty-trained. Children attending full day camps should bring a lunch and all campers receive snacks daily. Zoo members enjoy discounted rates. Parents must pre-register and pay in advance.
