Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
Held every summer at Lewis University, the Aviation Career Education (ACE) Academy is a week-long camp aimed at introducing young people from inner city backgrounds, aged 13 to 18, to careers in aviation and flying. Participants gain hands-on experience and knowledge through a combination of classroom lessons and exciting field trips. Highlights of the program include learning about aircraft, flight safety, and piloting basics, taking orientation flights, and visiting major aviation events and facilities such as the EAA Oshkosh Air Show, Midway Airport, and the FAA Control Tower. Students benefit from direct interactions with aviation professionals, enhancing their exposure and understanding of possible aviation career paths. Supported by a range of aviation and community organizations, this camp offers a unique educational opportunity for youth interested in the aviation field.
