Designed for 10th to 12th grade students passionate about animals and veterinary careers, the Anti-Cruelty Veterinary Mentoring Program offers an immersive educational experience. Through collaborations with The University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, participants engage in monthly virtual seminars led by veterinary experts. These sessions cover diverse subjects including surgery, animal behavior, and shelter medicine, offering students a glimpse into the veterinary profession’s challenges and scientific foundations. Requirements include completion of biology coursework, a GPA of at least 2.5, and a keen interest in veterinary or animal-related sciences. The program spans eight months, from September to April, providing an in-depth look at veterinary medicine to help students prepare for future academic and career pursuits in this field.
