This summer, the University of Florida is hosting engineering-focused camps for high school and middle school students across 16 Florida counties. The camps include hands-on lessons in artificial intelligence, programming, machine learning, electrical power, and engineering design thinking. Campers will explore AI in agriculture, smart farms, self-driving tractors, music, sports, and hurricane forecast models. Activities involve working with microcontrollers like micro:bit, programming interactive pets, stoplights, and gesture-recognition systems. The camps aim to inspire future engineers, especially in AI, through free, real-world engineering projects supported by local teachers and UF mentors.
