Linking Camps and Campers Since 1995
The AIM program at Boston University offers a comprehensive three-week immersion into the field of medicine tailored for high school juniors and seniors. This premedical course emphasizes both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, featuring morning seminars led by BU faculty on essential medical subjects like anatomy, infectious diseases, and modern health challenges. Afternoons provide engaging hands-on training through simulation labs for clinical skills, surgical technique workshops, anatomy lab work, and learning about medical imaging. The latter half of the program involves lab-based physiology projects culminating in presentations to the BU academic community. The course aims to enhance participants’ academic and experiential understanding of medicine and introduce the diverse professions within the medical field. Additionally, the experience is enriched with social and cultural activities around the BU campus and Boston, promoting community building and exploration.
