Since 1981, the first two weeks in August YPI has created a two-week summer residential community of respect and responsibility for young people: teens and tweens ages 10-17 (grades 5-12). For those whose talents in writing and the visual and performing arts set them apart in their school systems, YPI provides a home base by meeting every year. Creative expression is the ultimate goal. YPI provides access to professional artists who may help guide their careers as young people mature. These master teachers share both their talent and their wisdom. “YPI is not just a place, it’s a state of mind.”
YPI is a one or two-week program for young people who have a passion for the arts. Workshops in Multimedia visual arts, photography, (dark room & digital), Acting, Musical Theater, Dance, Song Writing, Poetry and Short Story are available to young people ages 10-18. Campers may choose two weeks of one art program or one week of of two different workshops. Class sizes are between 8 to 12 so a young artist gets lots of individual attention to learn and grow. Campers attending two weeks get to travel to Faneuil Hall and Quincey Market in Boston on the Saturday between sessions.
