LeXT LEGO Robotics/ Coding Summer Camp
Agoura Hills California
LeXT Robo Academy uses LEGO education concepts and curriculum to provide a hands-on learning experience and fun environment for our students while developing their skills in science, technology engineering, robotics, codingand mathematics. Our robotics program covers all age groups from 4 to 14+ students.
Our summer camp program is to engage kids from 4 years old to 14 years old in science, engineering, robotics, and coding.
For kids under 6 years old, this program will engage children in investigating and understanding the operation of simple machines such as gears, wheels and axles, levers, and pulleys to introduce kids to science and engineering concepts. They will build pinwheels, spinning tops, car launchers, hockey players, and other projects while exploring motion, energy, stability, forces and friction concepts.
Students ages above 7 years old will build and program autonomous robots with the new SPIKE Prime LEGO set. Each student will have a Lego SPIKE set with over 500 pieces and a programming device. They will learn how to program the robot to move around and solve several daily challenges. Using Scratch block coding, students will also experiment with building and programming arms to collect, transport, lift, and deposit. This program will promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Computer science has changed the world as we know it, and it will continue to have a profound on our lives for future generations. As a result, children must learn the basics of computer science from an early age to generate the technological advancements that align with society’s needs. In this course, students will learn programming fundamentals through SPIKE, Lego’s newest Mindstorms® product. Not only will this serve as an introduction to programming, but it will adequately prepare students for First Lego League, an international Lego robotics competition.
