ESSYI offers an exciting two-week, interdisciplinary program for talented sophomore, junior and senior high-school students. This program is designed to introduce students to a variety of environmental issues and perspectives on nature and the environment in Upstate New York.
Activities include assessing water quality on a 65-foot research vessel on Seneca Lake; investigating streams and quaking bogs around the Finger Lakes; hiking, canoeing and camping in the Adirondack Mountains; and conducting hands-on experiments inside laboratories at the Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Students will also have an opportunity to explore a range of topics in environmental policy, economics, and ethics with college professors. Tuition for 2019 is $3,600.
