Kids can travel back to the 1830s this summer.

Bensenville Park District is offering its inaugural Time Travelers Summer Camp at Fischer Farm for kids between six and 12. Time Travelers Camp is scheduled for July 6-17, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Established in 1834, Fischer Farm is one of the oldest remaining homesteads in DuPage County. The camp will include numerous games and activities, including hikes to view native plants and animals as well as field trips throughout DuPage County to learn more about the past. Knowing the summer heat will undoubtedly tag along, all of the Bensenville Park District camp kids will enjoy visits to the Bensenville Water Park and Splash Pad.

Other camps include:

Adventure Camp is for six to 10-year-olds and offers a little of everything. Campers will create cool crafts, play games, go on field trips, enjoy afternoon pool time and visit the library. It’s a great time to make new friends, try new things and have fun.

Sports Camp helps kids improve skills in a variety of sports. All skill levels are welcome. Kids will have fun and learn good sportsmanship, as well as enjoy afternoon swimming and field trips. For six to 10-year-olds.

There’s also Teen Camp for 11 to 15-year-olds. Swimming, field trips, games and crafts, along with an opportunity to lead the younger camps, are all included.
