Camp Northwood is a socially therapeutic residential summer camp located in the the Adirondacks of New York State serving approximately 130 children with Asperger’s Syndrome, learning challenges and socially immaturity. The Northwood program offers campers an opportunity to participate in traditional camping activities while receiving the extra professional support and structure necessary to meet their individual needs. 2:1 camper/counselor ratio. Activities such as swimming, tubing, drones, hiking, arts & crafts, soccer, drama etc. are used as the vehicle with which Northwood approaches the development of social skills, self-esteem and independence. Programming includes formalized social skills training and daily academics.
