San Jacinto Council Girl Scout Camps popular

Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council offers many opportunities for girls to enjoy camping. The Council has eight properties available for camping activities. Each camp has a unique outdoor setting and has been developed with a particular type of camping and set of activities in mind.

Camp Agnes Arnold A wooded, semi-primitive camp environment located in Conroe, Texas. Agnes Arnold is a 479 acre camp with many opportunities available to campers.

Shadow Lake is the main attraction at Camp Agnes Arnold. The lake offers 35 acres of cool, refreshing fun for campers. Girls may enjoy canoeing, nature study, and fishing on Shadow Lake.

Campers also participate in traditional camp activities such as swimming, making crafts, going on hikes, cooking outdoors, playing games, and making new friends.

Campers will stay in tents, yurts, tree houses or cabin units. With a view of the lake, girls eat most of their meals in an air-conditioned lodge. This camp provides an indoor, climate-controlled craft room and a library room.

Camp Casa Mare Casa Mare is a 43 acre camp in a seashore environment in Seabrook, Texas. Equipped with dormitories for living quarters, this tropical paradise on Galveston Bay is for ocean lovers and landlubbers alike. The warm, salty breezes, the call of gulls, and the sight of sailing vessels gliding across the bay provide the perfect setting for seaside fun.

Campers may focus on water sports such as sailing, SCUBA, and skin diving. A fleet of Sunfish sailboats, Lasers, and sloops provides a challenging experience for those who wish to gain expertise or just enjoy recreational sailing.

Other activities for the landlubber include crabbing, nature crafts and identification, stargazing, swimming, sports, bird watching, archery.

The camp features an air-conditioned galley/lodge for meals and assemblies. The lodge also houses craft/activity rooms and a display of artifacts from the camp's rich history.

Camp Misty Meadows Camp Misty Meadows is one of the finest horseback riding facilities in the Southwest with barn complex, riding arenas, and a herd of 40 horses waiting to be loved, hugged, and groomed by summer campers. Misty Meadows is a 328 acre wooded, camp environment located in Conroe, Texas.

In addition to the four-legged attraction, the camp offers a pool, archery range, tennis and basketball courts, and a field for softball. Traditional camp activities such as making crafts, going on hikes, cooking outdoors, playing games, and making friends are all part of the fun.

Cabins and dormitories are home to girls staying at Camp Misty Meadows. Campers enjoy most meals in the air-conditioned comfort of the Wortham Lodge. The lodge also features a stage, craft/activity rooms, and a large covered patio.
