South Shore YMCA Camps Burgess & Hayward
Camp Burgess for boys and Camp Hayward for girls are traditional brother/sister camps located on Cape Cod, surrounded by 300 acres of woodland and three lakes. Campers ages 7-15 will make friends, learn new skills and create lifelong memories. We offer one and two week sessions, as well as a one-week coed specialty camp. Our GREAT ESCAPES program offers 6-13 day adventure trips for teens. Our highly trained staff come from all over the world to inspire and guide our campers through a fun-filled and rewarding camp experience. Scholarships available.
We offer a variety of activities that campers can choose from in order to have a well-rounded and diverse camp experience. Activities include sailing, canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing, swimming, tubing, water-skiing, golf, photography, nature, arts & crafts, horseback riding, music, archery, landsports, outdoor pursuits, drama, mountain biking, dance and more. For 16 year old campers who are ready to take on more responsibility, new challenges and develop leadership skills we offer a 4 week Counselor-in-Training program. On GREAT ESCAPES Adventure Trips teens travel on 6, 10 and 13 day trips all around North America. Activities include whitewater rafting, surfing, scuba diving, horseback riding, mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking and sailing.
