Experience the ultimate camp, where fantasy meets imagination and dreams become reality. Campers (aged 9 – 16) participate in one of 16 custom-designed, one-and two-week resident specialty camps including: Secret Agent, Extreme Action, Watersports, Hollywood Stunts, Girl Power Extreme, Magazine Publishing, Fashion, Broadcasting, Film Institute, Motorsports, Dance and Acting Academy’s, Movie Make-Up, Rock Star Camp, Culinary Institute and Leadership.
Afternoons: Choose 3 individual electives from 50+ activities: Target Sports, Skateboarding, ATV's, Dune Buggies, Paintball, High Ropes, Laser Tag, Cooking, Crafts, Karaoke, Yoga, Mani’s, Hiking, Basketball, Ga-Ga, Cricket, Zip Line, Climbing Wall, Rugby, Water skiing, Wake Boarding, Banana boating, Jet skiing, Sailing, and much more!
Extreme Action Adventure Camp
If danger is your middle name, and safety is your mom's, then this is the specialty for you! From start to finish, under the expert supervision of our highly trained staff, you will experience some of the most thrilling, unique, action-packed, dirt-filled, adrenaline-pumped activities on the planet.
Fly through the air on our the 227' long zip line, scale to new heights on our 53' giant rock wall, race ATVs, go-karts, dune buggies and minibikes. Experience more heart-pounding action on our over 10 acres of ever popular paintball fields!
Then take a spin on our awesome skate park, Shred City. Need a break? Not a chance! Test out your tactical skills with Lazer Tag and then take an awesome mountain biking ride through the forest.
When you are ready for more action, race around in giant inflatable hamster balls, maneuvering through the ultimate challenge obstacle course. Campers will even have the chance to ride a giant slip n' slide down the side of a hill, only to be catapulted by a ramp into Pop's Pond below.
If you have nerves of steel and the need for constant adventure, then Extreme Action is where you belong.
Secret Agent Camp
1 Week Program: Go undercover for a week at Pali and return home having mastered the skills of a real secret agent. As a Pali agent, you will learn stealth tactics, undercover maneuvers and enjoy exhilarating and fun activities including spy games, rapid-fire paintball challenges, high ropes course acrobatics, and little-known martial arts techniques like hip throws, axe kicks, flying side kicks, and the mummy twist. It’s sure to get your heart pumping!
As a Secret Agent, you will learn teamwork, critical thinking, problem solving skills and discipline. Deploy on a critical mission with your fellow Pali Agents and support one another as you push your limits scaling the 53’ high rock wall and fly through the air on our 227’ long zip line. Then, test your strength and stamina on one of five themed paintball fields including The Wild West, The Junkyard, President’s Field, High Noon, The Jungle, and the inflatable speedball field.
2 Week Program Paintball! Laser tag! Paintball! During week two of Secret Agent Camp, as a newly trained agent, you will put your skills to the test! During specials operations training, you will learn rapid room entry and room-clearing methods followed by covert missions around camp in preparation for your ultimate objective. Swat tactics and stealth techniques will be employed during longer and bigger paintball and laser tag battles. Utilizing skills you’ve learned like code deciphering, orienteering, and field communications, you must capture the other team’s home base to win the game and save the day. Once you have mastered these skills and achieved these outcomes, your advanced training will include night time laser-tag combat drills and precision target shooting while zip lining or riding on the back of an ATV. Your secret agent training at Pali will culminate with an overnight camping trip including a recon and rescue mission to prove you and your teammates can complete mission impossible and save the world!

Water Sports Extravaganza Camp
Do you love water-skiing, jet skiing, wake and knee boarding? At Water Sports Extravaganza , you'll spend three hours each day on the lake getting semi-private lessons. Expert instructors will teach you to cut and jump the wake, ride switch-stance, end in a fakie position, perform stale fish grabs and much more. Programs take place on Big Bear Lake, the perfect water sports environment where the water is a comfortable 70-72 degrees. If you love the water, come get wet!
Hollywood Stunt Camp
Campers will learn basic stunts - rolls, low falls, headers and jumps. They'll develop overall body coordination and learn tricks for landing on stunt pads and leaping off mini-trampolines. Using professional techniques, campers will stage a rehearsed fight - complete with furniture and other assorted break-away objects. Armed with new skills, these thrill seekers will rehearse and perform a jaw-dropping stage show for the entire camp (recorded for campers to take home).
Broadcast Journalism
Reporters will learn how to write stories, read on camera, do stand-up reports on location, work from an anchor desk and use cue cards. On the technical end, campers are taught camera operation and lighting. Every week, kids will produce newscasts for the entire camp, and the parents watching online at home, getting the thrill of watching themselves on screen; they will also take home a DVD of their broadcasts. In addition to the glitz and glamour of being on TV, campers will learn about journalism ethics, interviewing techniques and how to use hidden cameras and microphones (for investigative stories). These future TV journalists are also taught editing techniques, including blue screen. They will also learn in-studio camera moves and how to create cool graphics as seen on network news.
Film Institute
In this filmmaking specialty, campers will work with professionals on storyboarding, shot list creation, shooting and editing. Newbie writer/directors will develop movie ideas, shape them into screenplays, cast their films from the Acting Academy and yell "action" to their fellow campers. Hollywood magic will come to life when kids' movies premiere at the Pali Film Festival! As a bonus, campers will take home a DVD of their movie to show to family, friends and producers!
Fashion Design Institute
1 Week Program: Ed Hardy has nothing on our fashion designers! From handbags to dresses to jewelry, experience the life of a fashionista. At the Fashion Design Institute, you will become a trendsetter and design your very own clothing lines from scratch.
With guidance from Pali's top design instructors, you will learn all you need to turn creative ideas into one-of-a-kind catwalk creations. Start out with sketches and illustrations, and then bring your vision to life after learning stitches, sewing techniques, material characteristics, and the characteristics of the human body that determine the way clothing fits and flows. Whether you decide to create designer pants, shorts, handbags, shirts, or dresses, you will have the stage to show off your work at the Friday fashion show!
2 Week Program: Bigger, more extravagant and detailed projects await those with a dedication to fashion. During this more advanced week at the Fashion Institute, you'll get more one-on-one time with our experienced designers and will get to use more intricate patterns and learn more advanced design techniques. You'll add fabulous pieces to your growing fashion line and be able to show off your extraordinary accomplishments in the Pali Fashion Showcase. The audience will cheer as camper models strut the catwalk highlighting your unique design creations.
Design your own clothes and then strut down the runway!
Culinary Institute Become the next top chef on the cooking scene! At Pali's Culinary Institute, our executive chef and culinary experts will inspire your imagination and encourage your creativity as you create tasty delights, sumptuous delicacies and extraordinary dishes representing the finest cuisine from around the world!
From appetizers to soups and salads, from entrees to desserts, you will learn the skills and secrets passed down generation to generation by top chefs across the globe. You will prepare, including Polynesian meatballs, panko-crusted vegetables with teriyaki dipping sauce, five-cheese corn quesadilla, and chocolate fondue with a variety of dippers, cakes, and fruits!
Each day at the Culinary Institute has a theme, including Southern Buffet, Mediterranean Nights, Mexican Fiesta, Sports Party Madness, Chinese Banquet, Thanksgiving Dinner and Classic Sunday Brunch. During the Football and Sports theme, for example, you'll learn how to make chicken wings, BBQ ribs, tri-tip, and an array of appetizers culminating in the Super Bowl Madness Party.
Through the themes you will master a variety of cooking styles and techniques, all leading up to a magnificent "Iron Chef" style cooking challenge where campers will be in teams to create, dishes using the secret ingredient. Bon appetit!
Rock Star Camp
In this specialty, future rockers will write, play and record their own songs. They'll also learn vocal warm-ups and practice rhythm exercises. If campers want to play an instrument, they'll be introduced to their choice of drums, guitar, bass or keyboards. This specialty is taught in a supportive and creative environment that totally rocks! Campers will also get a chance to work on the other side of the mixing board, and learn how to record and mix a song. With instructors to guide them, junior rockers are taught the basics of multi-track recording and production. They'll also learn how to mix sound during live performances. At the conclusion of this specialty, campers will perform their tunes for the entire camp and take home a DVD of the concert!
Dance Academy
Dance routines from MTV music videos come to life in this non-stop, heart-pounding specialty! In our cutting-edge Dance Academy, young hip-hoppers will move and groove to the slamming sounds of Beyonce Knowles, the Black Eyed Peas, Usher and more! Campers will learn high-energy combinations of modern jazz and hip-hop choreography--isolations, spins, twists and turns--all set to the latest beats. Boys can join in and learn urban dance moves such as popping, locking, hitting, jamming, flexing, wave and break dancing! By video recording their performances and watching video playback of themselves on a monitor, campers can improve their dance moves. Performers will also get the inside secrets on what professional choreographers look for in a dancer. After they complete their toe-tapping training, youngsters will break down and bust their moves on stage as they "wow" the entire camp with a dazzling dance show. As an added bonus, they'll keep their costumes and take home a DVD of their mind-blowing performances! In two-week sessions, these future JLOs will also take a trip to Hollywood, where they may even be discovered while auditioning for professional dance agents!
Acting Academy
Campers will jump start their imaginations with improvisations and theater games to help them "think on their feet." Future Oscar-winners will hone their acting techniques by working on monologues and learning how to play a motivation. By using a video camera to record their acting exercises and watching the playback, campers can "video study" their performances. Got a wacky voice? Campers are also taught voiceover for cartoons and commercials. As a bonus, they'll be trained in audition techniques and have headshots taken. Campers in two-week sessions will audition for Hollywood's children's agents and casting directors. Campers may also audition for movies produced by the Pali Film Institute.
Motorsports Extravaganza Accelerate, turn, brake, and race for the finish line! At Pali's Motorsports Extravaganza, you will learn all there is to know about Motorcross! Each morning, you'll drive dune buggies, minibikes, ATVs, soap box racers, and go-karts! Campers are assigned to elite teams and rotate through each of these five activities daily.
In this extreme specialty, you will get the opportunity to learn cutting edge driving techniques and precision racing maneuvers on all three of Pali's dirt tracks. Instruction is customized from beginner to advanced, with more opportunities to push it to the limit as you improve.
Girl Power Extreme This exclusive girls only specialty offers the best heart pounding extreme action activities Pali has to offer in a safe and supportive environment plus a special menu of custom designed activities ranging from spa treatments to self-defense classes.
All the Pali Adventure activities are at your fingertips! From the high ropes course to paintball, every activity builds perseverance and determination. Flying on the zip line, producing a Kick flip in Shred City, Pali's state-of-theart skate park, or kicking dirt up in our newly expanded racetrack where you can choose among ATVs, dune buggies, and minibikes. You will be sure to have a feminine adventure unlike any other.
Girls will always be girls, and that's why Girl Power Extreme includes activities that encourage you to be as girly as you please! Activities like manis, pedis, spa treatments, yoga and bonding time are offered to balance the adventure in your lives. You will hear inspirational stories about how some of your favorite female athletes, business leaders and innovators got started so you can set your own goals and reach for your dreams.
Movie Make-Up Academy At Pali's Movie Makeup Academy you will learn the secrets of creating movie magic! Under the leadership of professional Hollywood makeup artists, you will learn how to make a fellow camper look like the Joker or a counselor into The Hulk.
The session starts with classes on makeup application, instruction on matching skin color and demonstrations on molding clay to create unique disguises. Next, you will learn to apply a bald cap and a fake nose and finally create gashes, cuts, and head wounds! Your work will look so real you might even scare yourself.
You will also work on creating a character from one of your favorite films! Do everything from prosthetics to monster makeup and even costuming. The ideas are endless and the more creative you are, the more fun you will have!
Once you have mastered your movie makeup skills, you will work hand in hand with campers at the Pali Film Institute to create the makeup effects for their productions, which will be screened at the Pali Showcase in front of hundreds of cheering campers.

Magazine Publishing Camp Learn what it takes to publish your own magazine! Experience all positions within a working publication: publisher, editor-in-chief, staff writer, photographer, graphic designer, distributor and more! You will get the chance to learn all aspects of the publishing industry by trying your hand at each.
Working together each day with other campers at The Pali Press, you will cover the latest news, highlight the current public interest pieces, write the feature stories, capture, acquire the photos, drawings and other images needed. Then design the look and feel, oversee the printing and manage the distribution process that will put your magazine in the hands of your readers.
As a camper you will hit the beat, making your way around camp looking for hard breaking news, as well as concentrate on public interest stories, researching and interviewing for longer, more detailed accounts, and if you have a funny bone, you will create games, puzzles, and sweepstakes, to make the magazine as exciting as possible. Team work at it's best!
Using the industry's latest programs including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, campers will create and edit all their own work, which will be delivered to cabins each morning and posted online nightly.
Leadership You are never too young to be a leader! At Pali Leadership Camp, participants engage in a series of hands-on challenges, workshops and activities designed to teach the skills and mindset of exceptional leadership.
For 14-15 year-olds hoping to one day become Pali camp counselors and those wanting to develop abilities that will serve them in college and in life, Pali's program will inspire you to identify your potential and develop a clearer sense of purpose and responsibility. Our interactive leadership workshops will have campers practicing the essential skills of teambuilding, creative thinking and conflict resolution.
You will participate in ground-based ropes course initiatives, high ropes challenges, night hikes, and paintball missions combined with classroom-based sessions where you will learn about real world leaders and their secrets to success. Pali's leadership campers will still be just that, campers! You will fully participate in our afternoon electives and evening activities, though you will often serve in a leadership role ensuring maximum organization, participation and enjoyment for yourself and your fellow campers.
